That moment when you realize you’ve been trying to master the swing pattern for months and you realize you were actually trying to master the inverted swing pattern. Had I known there was a simpler form of this pattern that I was missing I probably would have mastered the inverted version much faster. This is why I stopped trying to learn to beat juggle off of YouTube videos and joined the Army!
Although there’s YouTube information out there, I definitely agree that now you’re a member of Brolic Army DJ School, the concepts surrounding Beat Juggling (and even scratching) will help you improve your creativity in a healthier way.
What I’m finding out is that even though I already know stuff like the chase, basic offset backspins (no fills), and even (somewhat) the inverted swing pattern, that without knowing other core movements like how to do the fills on the offset or gaining the speed you need for rock the bells you put yourself in kind of a where do I go from here situation? Learning these other moves are unlocking more creative ways of personalizing each movement and coming up with my own. I already came up with a pattern I never thought of before on Stakes is High and I couldnt be more excited…after 20 years of DJing and still learing!
