What is the Brolic Army DJ School and Online Community?
The Brolic army is an online DJ School and Community. We cater to all levels, from beginner to advanced DJs. We provide different courses which are all included with the membership plans. Courses can also be purchased individually without receiving member benefits.
We run a yearly DJ Battle called the Brolic Army ‘Civil War’ which has grown in popularity since 2016 when it first began. We also host seasonal showcases where DJs can show off their ideas, skills and routines in a non-competitive environment. Part of our mission is to cultivate your skills and network through our events, groups and discussion forums. Post COVID-19 we will be hosting in person events too.
What experience do I need before signing up?
No experience is required. We cater to all levels. We offer several courses for beginners such as Basic DJing, Basic Scratching and Fundamentals of Beat Juggling. We encourage most DJs to begin with these courses as they are great stepping stones to improving skills and unlearning any bad habits. We have comprehensive learning pathways for DJs which are available for viewing to members.
We also cater to intermediate and advanced level DJs and are constantly creating more courses, masterclasses and guides for DJs who are looking to advance their mixing for different types of events, looking to start battling and much more.
Do I need my own equipment before I start?
Yes. We do not offer any equipment although we do have an Equipment Guide available for those who are interesting in learning to DJ.
What musical genres do you teach?
All skills and techniques are applicable to all genres. We have students who DJ with Rock, House, Hip Hop, Dnb/electro, Pop, Mainstream etc. DJ Rob Swift will show you techniques and skills that can be applied to every single genre teaching you to be an all around exceptional DJ. In our courses, the focus is on Hip Hop beats and samples because of the nature of DJing being created by Hip Hop artists but again, the skills are applicable to all types of music.
